Weather: Sedona is at 4500 ft. elevation. It is the transition zone from high desert chaparral to juniper forest. The average temperature in May is 72 degrees F. However in the mornings it will be cooler and we will spend the hot afternoons inside meeting. Rain is very unlikely but possible in the afternoons.

Experience: This adventure is not for beginners. To get the most from the experience we advise you have some off road biking experience and be in reasonable physical condition. However you don’t need to be an expert either. Dr. Emmott is over the hill at 65 so nothing will be too extreme. And there is no shame in walking the really gnarly sections.

Bikes: The Sedona trails have lots of rocks, drop offs and steep descents. It is ideal terrain for a full suspension bike. If you have a great bike of your own and want to bring it that’s fantastic. You will need to pack it on the plane and then get a rack to drive it up to Sedona from Phoenix. If you don’t want to bring your own, rental bikes are available.

Equipment: There will be some helmets etc. available to rent. However you should bring your own if possible. Bring a helmet, gloves, shorts, a camelbak if you have one, water bottles if you don’t, sunglasses and shoes. If you have clipless pedals and don’t bring your own bike bring your shoes and pedals and the bike shop will install your pedals on the rental.

Rentals: We will be renting bikes from one of several local bike shops. They have some nice mid level full suspension bikes. These rent for $49 a day. However we will get a discount for multiple days. Higher end upgrades are available.

Trails: The best part about the trails in Sedona is that the whole place is so amazingly beautiful. The trails all snake through the red rock country with a wide variety of terrain, lots of rocks, drop offs and steep descents. It is ideal for a full suspension bike. Most of what we will ride is single track and some jeep roads. There will be slick rock, long rolling cruises, narrow forest trails, fast downhills, highly technical sections, and best of all awesome views around every corner.

Weather: Sedona is at 4500 ft. elevation. It is the transition zone from high desert chaparral to juniper forest. The average high in May is 75 degrees F. However in the mornings when we plan to ride it will be cooler and we will spend the hot afternoons inside meeting. Rain is unlikely but possible in the afternoons.

Disclaimer: Of course, mountain biking can be dangerous. You risk injury, illness, permanent disability or death. Because of the nature of the world we live in you will need to sign a liability waiver before we go.

Dentists face two daunting challenges. First, if they fail to use new technology effectively they risk falling behind competitively. Secondly, implementing new technology is expensive; however undoing a mistake can be even more expensive. As a result dentists are cautious about new technology and justifiably suspicious regarding vendor claims.

NOTE: One of the best features of a small retreat type CE event is that we can and will tailor the program to the topics the attendees want the most.

TOTR Topics will include:

  • Paperless Records
  • Digital Workflow
  • Online Services
  • Getting an ROI with Technology

Implementing new technology involves more than buying and installing a product – it also requires change. People resist change for a variety of reasons and overcoming that resistance, from both doctors and staff, is often more of a challenge than actually using the technology.

More Topics:

  • Using Google effectively
  • Driving traffic to a web page
  • Marketing Strategies

Computers aren’t just for numbers any more. Some of the most exciting and incredible developments in technology are in the area of advanced diagnostics and treatment.

The Future is Coming and it will be Amazing!
