If you attended my recent webinar on dental social media marketing, you know you have a chance right now to “get in on the ground floor” as Facebook begins to leverage its massive following to help local dental marketers reach out to their Perfect Patient.
To help you exploit this opportunity, this and future Posts will first focus on Facebook and, more specifically, on what I think should be your two main areas of concentration, namely, advertising with Facebook and optimizing your page within Facebook.
If you’re like other dentists I know, the practice of dentistry leaves little time to work on growing your practice. For that reason, I’ve intentionally ‘omitted the garnish, and just served up the main course.’ If you utilize the tip below, and those to come, you can look forward to rapid and tangible results.
Tip #1: Read the Terms of Service very carefully. If you’re like most people, myself included, anytime you sign up for or buy something on the internet, you blindly check the box labeled “I have read and agree to the Terms of Service”. Most of the time, it’s just a bunch of legalese that limits a company’s liability if anything goes wrong. It’s different in Facebook’s case.
Facebook is fiercely protective of its members and, as such, tends to be heavy-handed when doling out punishment. Simple things like grammatical errors, misspelled words, or even “excessive capitalization” can cause your ad to be rejected. That may not sound like a big deal but if you rack up more than a few rejections, Facebook can and will ban your account from ever advertising with them again.
Here’s an instance where an ounce of prevention is certainly worth a pound of cure.
So check the terms carefully and often. Also, be on the lookout for any updates to the Terms of Service to ensure you remain in compliance.
